About Us
Hi!
After our youngest child was diagnosed with dyslexia at the end of 2nd grade, I decided to learn more about the Orton-Gillingham (OG) reading approach for dyslexic students. I found the Children's Dyslexia Centers and applied to their initial certification program. Two years later, I completed their Advanced certification and 200 practicum hours. Since then, I have been privately tutoring students of all ages - pre-school through high school - in my tutoring practice.
I work with students in-person and remotely via zoom. As both a parent of a dyslexic child and an OG practitioner, I not only understand the many challenges that students and families often face, but also embrace the extraordinary intellect and determination of dyslexic students.

Hi!
After working in upper management for several IT start-ups, I began tutoring in math and science as well as offering standardized test preparation at several private high schools. Quickly, the work expanded and I launched a private tutoring practice 20 years ago. With a degree in computer science engineering, I love to work with students on all levels of science and math, but also truly enjoy diving into other subject areas like history and English. I also provide standardized test preparation for the SAT, ACT, SSAT/ISEE, MCAS, GMAT, GRE and LSAT.
I take special pride in taking the fear out of subjects that may be posing a particular challenge for students. Many times, a student just needs a different approach to the material and one-on-one time to build confidence in a subject or particular standardized test.

What Happy
Students &
Parents Say
I highly recommend John Kelly as a tutor. He played a crucial role in helping my son pass his online Pre-Calculus class. John meticulously identified my son's strengths and weaknesses, tailoring his approach to address them effectively.
What truly set John apart was his ability to make complex concepts understandable and engaging, despite the challenges of an online learning environment. His physical presence and interactive teaching style brought clarity to the subject matter.
John's dedication and personalized support not only improved my son's comprehension and confidence for a subject that was difficult for him.
We are incredibly grateful for John's help and would recommend him to anyone in need of a math tutor.
